Shoaib Hashmi’s father-in-law was the famed poet Faiza Ahmed faiz, and his wife, Salima Hashmi, is an educator and artist. His son, Adeel Hashmi, is an actor who has been in well-known telecom commercials.

The news was first shared on PTV’s Twitter feed. Hashmi was a professor of economics in addition to being the spouse of Salima Hashmi, an artist and educator. PTV claims that he graduated with a both a Master of Science in Drama and a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

According to a 2012 feature published in Dawn, he is most known for his columns in The News and Gulf News as well as his television series Akkar Bakkar, Sach Gup, Taal Matol, and Balila, all of which aired prior to the 1990s.
