“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” Opening Weekend Box Office: 120.5 Million Dollars
The first weekend of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” at the American box office brought in an impressive 120.5 million Dollars. The film’s opening weekend of 146 million Dollars is second only to “The Super Mario Bros. Movie”‘s opening weekend of 146 million Dollars, and it is the third largest opening weekend for any “Spider-Man” picture.
Sony’s animated sequel, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” has benefited from both the critical acclaim and audience enthusiasm for the 2018 Oscar winner, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” There was a huge increase in early ticket sales compared to the previous picture, which introduced moviegoers to Miles Morales and the concept that “anyone can wear the mask,” but only debuted at 35.5 million Dollars. However, it had staying power and grossed over 384 million Dollars worldwide (including 190 million Dollars in North America) at the conclusion of its theatrical run.
