Jewel Thief 2025 Ending Explained – The Heist Begins is a Hindi action thriller on Netflix that premiered on April 25, 2025.It stars Saif Ali Khan as Rehan Roy, a master jewel thief. The movie’s story centers on the famous “Red Sun” diamond – a priceless African jewel – coming to Mumbai. Gangster-turned-art-collector Rajan Aulakh (Jaideep Ahlawat) wants this diamond for himself and forces Rehan into a heist.

Main Characters of the Movie

Rehan Roy (Saif Ali Khan): Rehan is a world-famous thief who has been living abroad . When his younger brother Avi is threatened, Rehan learns that Rajan has framed their father to blackmail him. To protect his family, Rehan returns to India. He is very smart and always plans one step ahead.

Police officer Vikram Patel (Kunal Kapoor) is also on Rehan’s trail the whole time. Rajan Aulakh (Jaideep Ahlawat): Rajan is a wealthy Mumbai art collector who used to run gangs. He hears that the Red Sun diamond will be on display and decides to steal it. Rajan hires Rehan for the job and even tries to ruin Rehan’s family to force his cooperation. He is violent and ruthless. He keeps a tight grip on his personal life and even abuses his wife, Farah. 

Farah (Nikita Dutta): Farah is Rajan’s wife who lives in fear of him. She suffers under Rajan’s harsh control and is very unhappy. When Rehan is staying in their home, he befriends Farah. Over time, Farah falls in love with Rehan and decides to help him steal the diamond. Vikram Patel (Kunal Kapoor): Vikram is an honest Indian intelligence officer. He has been chasing Rehan around the world. Throughout the film, Vikram tries many times to catch Rehan and stop the heist. However, Rehan always outsmarts him.

The Heist Plan Rehan’s plan to steal the Red Sun is very clever. He first stages a fake robbery at the Mumbai museum where the diamond is kept. This fake heist scares the museum’s owner (the African prince) into packing up the Red Sun and leaving India. Rehan even sabotages the prince’s private plane, forcing him to take a commercial flight instead. Rehan then boards that commercial flight along with Rajan and Farah. While in the air, Rehan and Rajan force the plane to land in Istanbul. There, Rehan opens the high-security vault on the plane and steals the Red Sun diamond from it.

Key Twists in the Movie

• Fake heist and plane trick: Rehan deliberately makes the first museum robbery look like a failure
• This causes the prince to change planes. Rehan’s sabotage of the private jet forces everyone onto a commercial flight.
• Forced landing in Istanbul: On that flight, Rehan tricks the pilot and makes the plane land in Istanbul
• After landing, Rehan and Rajan break into the plane’s vault and grab the diamond
• Fake diamond swap: Secretly, Rehan has switched the real Red Sun with a convincing fake
• This means that when the gangster Moosa comes to buy the diamond, he only gets the fake stone
• Rajan’s downfall: Rajan realizes he’s been outwitted and attacks Rehan, but Rehan wins the fight
• When Moosa arrives and threatens Rajan, Rajan lights a gas leak and blows up the hideout, killing himself and Moosa in the explosion

Ending Explained: Did Rehan Escape with the Diamond?

Yes – Rehan succeeds and escapes with the real diamond. After Rajan’s defeat, Rehan walks away with the genuine Red Sun. He even makes Rajan sign papers transferring money to help Rehan’s family before the explosion. With Rajan gone, Rehan and Farah leave Istanbul together. All of the criminals and henchmen are defeated or dead. Officer Vikram Patel never catches them in this film – he is still chasing Rehan and Farah at the very end.

Romance and Sequel

A romantic subplot is Rehan’s growing bond with Farah. By the end of the movie, Rehan and Farah have fallen in love and plan their next life together. The final scene shows Rehan and Farah meeting up (in a new city) to plan another heist.
