After defeating India by 6 wickets in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 played at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, Australia became the world champion of cricket for the sixth time.
After India’s defeat, Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan released a special message on the social networking website X (formerly Twitter) to encourage his team.
Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan said in his post that “The spirit and dedication with which the Indian team played this entire tournament is a matter of honor, all the players showed great spirit and determination”.
The actor said, “It’s a game where losing is always winning, not always winning. There are days when a team loses and that’s what happened in the final. Despite the defeat, we are grateful to the Indian team who made us feel proud by showing a wonderful game.
Encouraging the Indian team, he added, “You have brought so much joy to the whole of India and made us a proud nation”.
It should be noted that this was India’s first defeat in the tournament. After winning all 9 league matches in the World Cup, the Indian team also made it to the semi-finals, but in the final, the Kangaroos defeated India’s ambitions.
It should be remembered that in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023, India’s target of 241 runs was set by Australia at the loss of four wickets in 43 overs.
Australia has become the most six-time champion in the history of the Cricket World Cup having previously won the title in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015.
